Journal of Engineering
and Public Policy

INTRODUCTION

The Journal of Engineering and Public Policy is an open access publication which provides a compendium of research papers prepared by engineering and computer science students participating in the annual Washington Internships for Students of Engineering (WISE).

WISE papers are published here in a journal format for purposes of public information and to promote discussion on important issues related to technology and public policy.  Papers are not peer reviewed or edited in the traditional sense, although they have been developed with guidance from the individual WISE sponsors and under the supervision of the WISE Faculty-Member-in-Residence.  The conclusions, recommendations and opinions expressed in the papers are those of the authors and not necessarily shared by the engineering societies who sponsored the WISE Intern.

Authors retain all rights to their papers, except where assigned to the sponsoring society or as otherwise noted in the paper.  The WISE Program is authorized to disseminate these papers for the purposes stated.  Individuals may copy and distribute papers for their own personal use subject to any restrictions imposed or rights retained by their sponsoring societies.
